On February 5th, I gave Rylan his first haircut. He was very curious about the clippers and kept trying to see what I was doing, but overall, he did pretty good. I chose to cut his hair during the day when Joe was gone, so I relied a lot on Landon's help. He was my entertainer and photographer. Between the two of us, I think his haircut turned out pretty cute. What a handsome boy!
My Mom came to visit me a couple of weeks ago and we all went outside to play while she was here. We live on a back dirt road with no traffic so it's fun to hook the sleds up to the back of the car and pull the kids around. They had a blast.
Landon just lost his first tooth right before Christmas and then just about a month later, he lost a second one. I told him if he keeps up at this rate, he'll have to be eating baby food with Rylan.
On January 2nd, Alexa was baptized. (I'm finally getting around to posting those pictures.) I can't believe she is old enough to be held accountable for her actions. She is growing up so fast! Her baptism was a very special day and one on which many tears were shed. Tears of joy and gratitude were shed because we are so thankful that Alexa is here on this earth with us. We came too close to losing her and never experiencing her baptism. Tears of sorrow were shed because I was very sad that my Mom and Dad weren't there to share in the joy of that day. My Dad was in the hospital at that time and my Mom was with him. Despite all the tears, however, it was a glorious day and one that I will remember for the rest of eternity. I only hope Alexa will remember the sweet spirit that was there as she entered the baptismal font that January day.
